Is 'The Paradox' Over?There may have been a publishing frenzy in recent years celebrating the French paradox--where it has appeared that a love of wine and fatty foods, and a refusal to exercise, has resulted in a generally healthy and slim nation. In the past few months, however, media coverage has revealed that the French way of life is seriously under attack. Last year, it was a little cloudy, with occasional light rain, but hardly gloomy . . . Sometimes there were mixed clouds, at others, a clear sky. The temperatures were quite comfortable. The fitness industry is a little like Paris. It has its challenges. But it’s such a comfortable, special place to be that it’s hard to think of working anywhere else. |
